Who Am I?

Laurie Lang is an upright jazz bassist, composer, educator, and producer based in Madison, Wisconsin. Active in the region’s jazz community for many years, she creates music in a wide range of settings, from intimate ensembles to collaborative creative projects.
Her work is rooted in creativity, listening, and the possibility of shared experience. Through music, Laurie invites people into moments of connection, discovery, and belonging, where something meaningful can emerge together.

LIVE PERFORMANCE

Laurie creates musical experiences in a variety of settings, from intimate jazz combos to collaborative community-based artistic projects. Each setting becomes an opportunity to listen, connect, and explore what can be created together.

Madison Jazz Society

Laurie currently serves as the board president for the Madison Jazz Society. She is actively involved with their jazz educational programming.
